But you're wrong... Pantera were a pretty talented group, Dimebag was a great soloist, an even better riff maker, he wasn't super versatile, but whats with all these fans criticizing metal bands for not being versatile anyway?... Is just playing metal a bad thing?... Vinnie Paul is a good drummer, Phil Anselmos vocals are an aqquired taste, Rex Brown, well, the lesser said of him the better.... But because they're not as skilled as many metal bands meanns nothing, i consider their music much more enjoyable than most metal, metal dosen't have to be all structure and complexity, to call them uncreative and talented is just wrong, and it's not like metal is a genre where creativity is often celebrated... Cemetary Gates is a pretty creative song... As are a lot of the songs on VDOP and CFH.

So I happen to believe that 99% of all music is crap. Look at the charts as an example. How much of that do you really like? How much of all the music out there, do you, or anyone else truthfully believe to be wonderful? We all filter our music to suit our taste. |

There's that much music in the world, to call all but a small percetage of it ( which probably from your viewpoint would be limited to just a few genres) is hidiously closed minded. |

Take all the different genre charts and in my opinion, most of it's content is crap. I take (what is in my opinion) the best I hear. That remark of yours about my interest being limited to just a few genres is an assumation and ill informed...your guessing. My genre interest is wide, as is my taste in music. I'm just picky. Are you seriously telling me you like every song you hear? |

Of course not... But i listen to a lot of music, and i wouldn't if i thought most of it sucked major ass.
A lot does suck, but i don't listen to it, it's as simple as that.... And IMO there are a lot of instrumentally talented bands out there, and if people don't like their music, they just decide that they have no talent whatsoever... But that's not quite how it works. |

Besides i wasn't talking about your interests, you can still appreciate genres you don't like.
