even Behold...The Arctopus? They don't have vocals even. It's really great stuff which is only lumped into metal cos it's loud haha. It reminds me of jazz more than metal.

But you're wrong... Pantera were a pretty talented group, Dimebag was a great soloist, an even better riff maker, he wasn't super versatile, but whats with all these fans criticizing metal bands for not being versatile anyway?... Is just playing metal a bad thing?... Vinnie Paul is a good drummer, Phil Anselmos vocals are an aqquired taste, Rex Brown, well, the lesser said of him the better.... But because they're not as skilled as many metal bands meanns nothing, i consider their music much more enjoyable than most metal, metal dosen't have to be all structure and complexity, to call them uncreative and talented is just wrong, and it's not like metal is a genre where creativity is often celebrated... Cemetary Gates is a pretty creative song... As are a lot of the songs on VDOP and CFH.

Well that's where we dissagree I guess. I mean sure it was creative for it's time but it's not really that special. Especially when you have bands such as Behold...The Arctopus or Hella or even Dillinger Escape plan. Bands like that are the only reason I listen to heavy music still. They don't follow this riff breakdown solo routine that most metal bands of all times have followed. They smash the genres and that is much more creative to me.

You need to listen to more stuff. Some of the stuff around today is the best music of all time.

Of course not... But i listen to a lot of music, and i wouldn't if i thought most of it sucked major ass.

A lot does suck, but i don't listen to it, it's as simple as that.... And IMO there are a lot of instrumentally talented bands out there, and if people don't like their music, they just decide that they have no talent whatsoever... But that's not quite how it works.

Besides i wasn't talking about your interests, you can still appreciate genres you don't like.

I appreciate music I like, as opposed to entire genres.
With the exception of Northern Soul.

all emo sounds the same and is 99.9% winy teenage bull****
the arctic monkeys have done nothing to warrant their current praise, their music is just ok
rappers would make better music if they didn't have clothing lines and alcohol to make their money off of

Anyone who lumps all of "emo" is the same thing and calls it all whiney teenage bull**** probably hasn't even heard any real emo bands. Sorry but just by that statement your point becomes completely invalid.
