also, i'm not comparing him to any monumentally skilled bassist, i'd consider someone pretty talented if they brought something new to the table in a group or did something with their own style or flair. he's just filling in the spot, he's not really doing any "basslines", it's just connect the dots to the root note playing that anyone with a few days of practice AT THE MOST could do. and it's not like he's even trying to do his own thing with what he has either, it's pretty much the generic style of the genre. not saying he's awful though. put it this way: he's not terrible or great, he's just DOING HIS JOB. gahhh i wish mr dave was in this thread, he'd explain it alot better.
