Thing is, since most of Swift's songs sound like what any teenage girl would write (and rather like how they'd sing), every teenage girl thinks they can/should be famous like her.

Whereas it should probably be the other way around, with Swift being as famous as them.

I think Amanda Palmer is kind of annoying but I would totally be her best friend if she asked me to.

that and people who like 'everything' because they haven't yet grown the guts to stand behind their own tastes.
This is absolutely a huge question mark of mine. I never understand why certain people think that because they are fans of a perhaps lesser known artist/band it gives them the right to preach and belittle others who may happen to like a more "mainstream" artist/band. It's just so stupid and petty. Those types need to be knocked off their high music horses, honestly.

While I agree with you in a lot of cases, there are just sometimes when someone needs to be told that their band is crap and there is better stuff out there. And it always comes out in a mean egotistical way. It's tough love.

Like some of the people that roll through here professing their love of Fall Out Boy. I happen to be of the opinion if Fall Out Boy is your favorite band, you really just haven't heard any of the awesome music out there that is way better than them. I will tell you this.

But yeah, to just belittle them just because you listen to unknown bands and they don't...that's just mean.

F*CK.

I thought I deleted all my Clash comments.

I wasn't being remotely serious btw, The Clash are great and I was just letting out a little steam because of some guy called "ClashBoy1977" making youtube vids and bitching at people about how every Zep song was stolen and claiming that Communication Breakdown and Eddie Cochran's Nervous Breakdown were "identical".

Be sure you have an appointment with your proctologist because I've just put a voodoo curse on your colon.

Ouch! But an appropriate curse for such an off comment... :-)

Yet people seem to lend credibility to her lyrics when she sings about true love and marriage?

IDK, I'm already not a big fan of Country, but T-Swift is just a really juvenile, inexperienced, and crappy country artist in my eyes that gets a lot of undeserved attention.
Lyrics are childish, but at least she has a good singing voice.
