I saw them a couple of years ago unfortunately. They were rubbish. It's not really Misfits though, is it?

I feel lucky to have seen DFA1979 as they werent really together very long. Dinosaur Jr. was a festival set and a friend of mine was bugging the hell out of me to go with her to the bar or something while they were on and i refused. We finally started to walk away from the stage a few minutes before the end and i could hear guitar solo's clear as day no matter how far away i ventured. Impressive.

Boris was a fantastic gig. It was at a very small, intimate, crowded venue and so the noise levels were unreal. Plus these two lads i worked with at the time are a in a band and they were supporting them which definitely added to the night.

I wouldn't go see the new Misfits. Jerry Only & Friends. In my opinion all of those guys who are playing now have made great music and this is just a mockery of their talent. I was close to seeing DFA1979 but I had to leave the city they were playing just a couple days before.

Heh well I used to go to at least one but often 2 festivals a year and whatever festival I go to i try to fill pretty much every minute of it with live bands rather than wander around. Plus i used to spend nearly every penny i had on going to gigs, including going to see bands i didn't even give a shit about in the first place if i had nothing better to do.

The Near Misses list is far more impressive than The Good list.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Even worse, I have pretty rubbish excuses for not seeing them either Of the ones I remember particularly fondly, I only still listen to 5 or 6 of them these days. Everyone needs to go to a Madness or Hives gig at least once in their lives. Most of them were just good fun in the live environment - stuff like Art Brut, the Thrills and the Metros put on a good show, but I wouldn't be caught dead with an album of theirs.

Longview just bored the crap out of me, but looking back the Polyphonic Spree weren't actually as bad as the others. Just not really my kinda thing.

And, as I think I've said before, if you ever want to crush a man's will to live, take him a to Wombats gig.

I thought they were alright too. It could have something to do with the fact that they were playing after Interpol and The Thrills and after enduring them i could have probably been tempted to put a bullet in my head, but i quite liked The Polyphonic Spree.
