Since the OP included a couple of solo artists--Snoop Dog and Tricky aren't "bands"--I'd say you're good. You've seen some classic R&B vocal groups. I would have loved to have seen The Dells before they called it quits. I know it's been a long time but did The Soul Children do Hearsay?

Allman Brothers Band (x39)

Big Dipper

Quite an impressive list. I've singled out two for special comment. I work with a rather high number of jam band enthusiasts who would worship the ground you walk on for seeing the Allman Brothers 39 times. I'm personally more impressed with your getting to see Big Dipper (we're talking about the band and not the rapper, right?), a band I've somehow missed. The members are open to doing more reunion shows but the geographical distance between them probably means the odds are against it.

Seeing the Allman Brothers Band 39 times wasn't something I set out to do or ever thought I'd do but it just happened over many years and many tours.

I saw Big Dipper in the late 80's sometime after their debut album had been released. It was at a small local club and there were maybe 50 to 70 people at the show. They were one of the tightest bands I've ever seen perform live to this day. I actually went to high school with Jeff Oliphant and he was also in another band with 4 other friends of mine from high school before he joined Big Dipper.

Jeff seems like a cool guy. He put out a solo album a couple years ago (under a band name), download only, with help from Bill Goffrier. Jeff sings all of the lead vocals. I have the info on my other laptop.

I lost touch with Jeff quite some time ago but one of my fondest stories about him was from back in the 80's when the band 'Dirty Rotten Imbeciles' came to Boston for a gig. The gig fell through for some reason and Jeff was there and he invited the band to his parent's house and they showed up with their equipment and set it up in his parent's basement and played a free show in the basement which was packed with as many people as could fit down there.

I wasn't aware of it happening at the time, so I missed it, but It sounded like a blast from the friends I talked to who were there.

What a cool thing to do! I visit and occasionally post on the Big Dipper Facebook page. IIRC, Jeff is back living in the Boston area. Gary never left, while Bill is in Wichita and Steve (temporarily, at least) is back in Portland OR.

I've updated my list in my initial post to include The Country Teasers, a great band from Scotland I saw some years back. Their shambolic version of New Order's Blue Monday was great, as was their original material. They did have an American on drums in the band for awhile, a friend of mine who was playing with them at the gig I saw. He also appeared on a live album the band released.

I saw Buddy Guy on June 29. The show was part of his final American tour. He's in his late 80s but played better than, and with as much as, musicians half his age. A great show.

We have a lot of new members on the board. It would be interesting to see them post their own lists in this thread.
