I couldn't come anywhere close to all of them.
My first concert was Iron Butterfly in 1970. In '71 I saw Three Dog Night and Creedence Clearwater Revival. In '72 I saw Black Sabbath (opening act Gentle Giant, that changed everything right there), then I saw Led Zeppelin, the last time they ever played Portland OR. Everything starts getting hazy after that, the standout being in 1974 when I saw Jethro Tull, still the greatest concert of my life. I wrote a review of that in another forum, I may post that review here someday. But it's literally hundreds of shows, there's some of them that I know were great shows, but being the blackout drunk that I was (been sober for almost 18 years) I have no recollection of them. |

Those bands you are referring to are the second part of my list, not counting all of the opening acts, most of whom were instantly forgettable (except for a couple of truly atrocious ones.) Saw my first concert (a free, afternoon show) with my parents in 1967 (Grateful Dead opening for Jefferson Airplane.) Started going to shows on my own in the 70's. Still going! |
