You probably don't wanna hear me say this but I'll take a stab at it.

I usually don't watch the news adn i rarely read the 'news' that appears in the paper. Unless reading the comics and the horoscope counts.
Nonetheless to get to the point I'm pretty sure if such a thing was true you could find out at an official website of theirs if you really wanted to know.

And if you're a fan of the White Stripes you should probaly stop reading.
The White Stripes couldn't make money as a punk band, a emo band, what in tarnation makes you think they'll have success as a freaking country band?
Even if they do split up this means that well have two more suckey groups in the music industry.
And I feel so sad for the coutny music indutry already. And I feel wors cause I atcually like some country music. Like LeeAnn Womack, Faith hill and that's about it. (If LeeAnn Rimes counts as country then I like her too)

I need a nutter butter now. I swear I'm about to die if i don't get a powerade or something.
Peace out.

The White Stripes have always been an alt. country or a country/rock band, with a bit of blues mixed in. I don't see what the fuss is about, it probably won't even change their sound that much.

And Loretta Lynn is a beautiful singer/songwriter so good on Jack White for touring with her.

But they've made tons of money. They're rolling in it. And they're more blues than anything else.

I`d love it if they made a country album & alienated most of their fan base.

More bands should take risks like that , besides like Jane said they`ve always had that element to their music , I much preferred their earlier more bluesy stuff.
