Tomahawk fan here! I like Mit Gas quite a bit actually, sometimes more than the debut. Anonymous never really did much for me. The playing is superb, I just can't really get into the Native American vocals, unfortunately. I need to give it another try. I too wonder where they'll go next, if anywhere because as you said Patton is involved in so much stuff, there's no guarantee of any new material from any of his projects.

But to the subject at hand...I wouldn't say they are my favorite or best band to come out this decade. I think I would have to give that spot to The Mars Volta, honestly. They're not necessarily my favorite band, but one that's had the most impact on me this decade.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Lots of good bands came out in the last 10 years.

But I'll choose a favorite: Hot Snakes

thanks for the nice comments people

@jtwilliams - they've only released 3 albums so far, it really depends on what you're in the mood for. if you lean more towards rock music then either the self titled debut or 'mit gas' will be fine. if you're looking more experimental then their last release 'anonymous' is what you want.

@333 and sidewinder - i guess i'm a bit harsh on 'mit gas' in my first post. i really do like the album, it's the one that got me into the band. it's a better sounding album from a production standpoint but i prefer the imagery on the debut at this point. it just took some time to grow on me.

as for 'anonymous' i find i have to be in the right mood for it. for me it's best at either the start or the end of my day.

in regards to Patton and his direction. who knows haha. i've been hearing rumours that there's a new fantomas disc in the works which is apparently a full-on solo endeavor. quite enjoyed his soundtrack work in 'crank2' as well (best part of the movie i'd say haha)

They don't sound like any other band at all. Plus, they were basically the first metalcore band to use their style, and others copied it. And they have the best vocalist in metal imo.
