Default The Late Night Music Videos

Heya!

This is yet another music video thread, but this one is for the videos that are too adult in their content to get airtime on MTV or VH1 (etc) during the day. Use this thread to post those music videos that are too grisly, spooky, naughty or sexy for daytime TV.

I'll start out with a Supergrass song, "Mary" which is from their third album. Although they're not a very sinister bunch - and there are certainly worse videos than this one - it was still too much for MTV because it has corpses, blood and poltergeistish things going on in it. The plot seems fairly simple .. When Supergrass plays in the basement, strange things happen in the apartments above.

Let's see some more!

What's this? No replies?

Guess I'll have to pull out bigger guns then. Nine Inch Nails have one of the nastier music videos ever put out by a widely popular band. The song is "Happiness in Slavery" and features Bob Flanagan, known (and now deceased) supermasochist. In the movie, he worships in a machine which tortures him to death. Bob recieves the torture with a mixture of pain and pleasure.

This video is not for the feint of heart, so consider yourself warned!

Oh and those who don't mind violence so much, beware - there's genitalia in there.

Oh god... that was difficult for me to watch! I am a very squeamish person but I am way too curious for my own good. It is a great clip, though.

Anyway, when I think of late night music videos this comes to my mind immediately:

I also remember this video only ever being shown on late night MTV when I was younger, despite it being nominated for an MTV most creative video award or something? Anyway I never understood it.

I shall think of more later.

^Nice vids!

Girls on Film is one of my favourite Duran Duran hits, but I'd never seen that long uncensored vid before. It was way saucier than I suspected .. hubba! The Tool one isn't so bad, but I guess it gives associations to things which may not be so pleasant to think about or be confronted with on daytime TV. Nice vid, though.

I might as well post Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" before anyone else does!

More funny than disturbing (imo), but I guess it fits the thread. It is definetly a typical late night vid!

The machine grinds him up and fertilizes this garden with him .. Then Trent Reznor enters the room. Obviously, he's next!

You quoted the wrong post, though.

I can't believe I've never seen that NIN video, from my favorite NIN release too.

Love the Aphex Twin video, one of my favorite videos of all time and the first thing I thought of when you started the thread. Love the Tool song and video as well. I'll have to rewatch it as I don't recall what makes it a late night video, other than the lyrical content.

edit: Just finished the NIN video, woah that was intense! By the end my face was like .

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Haha, it's a nice collection of random scenes from horror films

I recognised quite a few such as Suspiria, Phenomena, Re-Animator, The Beyond and more .. Peter Jackson's Bad Taste even

This one people can see even if they are not particularly squeamish. Norwegian group Röyksopp's video for their song "What Else Is There" is more artsy and eerie than scary and gory, but I think it's dark enough for an inclusion here.
