I've never really understood why we have to vote twice, can't the ones that got enough yes's just get in and only the ones that came close to having more yes's than no's be up for deliberation?

Capt. Beefheart Meh, I guess he is alright but I haven't really started to dig him. So no.
Nick Cave Yeah, one of the greatest singer songwriters ever. An amazing amount of excellent albums as well. Nirvana Yeah I guess. but barely a yes. Blur Of course! Best brit pop band. Neil Young Nah, never was a fan. My Bloody Valentine Yes yes yes, Loveless is amazing. John Zorn NV Last edited by Double X; 09-02-2009 at 06:47 PM. |

Capt. Beefheart Abstain.
Nick Cave Yes, The Bad Seeds albums I have are just great. Nirvana Yes, even if based on talent alone. Blur No, they're okay, but I just don't like them enough. Neil Young No, i like him, but he's not very important to the site in terms of discussion. My Bloody Valentine Yes yes yes, Loveless is amazing.[2] John Zorn Abstain. |

Capt. Beefheart Yes, one of the finest examples of avantgarde music we have. Nick Cave Abstain, while i definitely like what i have by him i still don't feel i have enough. Nirvana Yes, one of the crucial bands of mine growing up. Blur No, good but not quite good or consistent enough. Neil Young Abstain, same as Nick Cave. My Bloody Valentine Yes, heavy yet still brilliantly majestic. John Zorn Abstain, not anywhere near knowing enough. |

Capt. Beefheart - N/A
Nick Cave - N/A Nirvana - No, as their music bores more me and I don't think they contributed very much in moving the alternative scene in a very creative direction. Blur - Yes, my favourite band of the 90s. Neil Young - N/A (I have listened to a few of his albums, but I don't think I know enough to decide) My Bloody Valentine - Yes, excellent, innovative music. Plus they are superb live. John Zorn - N/A |

Capt. Beefheart - Yes. A wonderful avant garde musician.
Nick Cave - No. I thought he was alright, but his music never awed me. Not hall of fame quality for me. Nirvana - Yes. Probably largely responsible for a lot of the music I like, and I loved them for a while. Maybe not the most complicated music but it was good. Blur No. They aren't a bad band, but I don't like britpop or whatever that much, and I don't think they are near good enough to be a hall of fame band. Neil Young - Abstain. I've never been a huge fan, but I'm not sure how I can like music and vote against Neil Young getting into a hall of fame. My Bloody Valentine - Yes. My favorite artist from this list. Loveless is, of course, a shoegaze classic; I love music with layers of distorted guitar sound and they are one of the best. John Zorn Never heard much by him. |

Capt. Beefheart Tricky......very tricky, I have so much respect for him, but so much disappointment, ABSTAIN
Nick Cave YES, I love the way this man tells a story Nirvana No, its not snobbery, I used to like Nirvana, Nevermind is marvellous, but Im struggling to get over certain things which surround this band, a NO I'm afraid. Blur The first album I ever bought was Parklife, I quickly moved onto Oasis, but looking back now, as a Mancunian I am slightly ashamed to say that Im starting to think Blur were the more talented.... and have written music which is easily accesible and will be easily revisited by later generations. Therefore a YES for the footprint they have made. Neil Young Part of me wants to say yes, after all there was nothing wrong with The Buffalo Springfield or CSN&Y or for that matter some of his solo stuff, but like Beefheart I just feel there are too many patches, but I will never say no to the man, so ABSTAIN. My Bloody Valentine You dont want to know what I think, a NO from me. John Zorn After being off here for a couple of weeks, I am shocked this guy has got to this stage, especially after The Monks fiasco, this Hall needs a breakthrough like the induction of this guy, a YES from me. |

Capt. Beefheart
Yes because he's one of the best lyricists of all time, one of my favorite songwriters , and one of my favorite artists. Nick Cave N/V. Frankly he bores me but that really a reason to say no as I don't have a wide scope on his music. Nirvana No because they really weren't anything special. *hides* Blur No. Fun but exaggerated by fans to the exetreme. Neil Young N/V My Bloody Valentine N/V. I like them but see Nick Cave. John Zorn N/V

Nirvana - Yes, a gateway to punk rock and such, brought alternative rock to the mainstream. They also have that who gives a sh1t attitude that's so funny and rebellious, but not for the sakeof being rebellious.
Blur - No. Good band and all, but not really hall of fame material, just don't think they did anything to revolutionary or different. |
