What's going on with the Music Industry these days???
I'm a member of an independent band called -------, and have just been becoming extremely overwhelmed by the difficulty of promotion. Having a low budget to promote makes it very hard for me to get my band out there to hear our music. I'm really just interested in what other people might have to say about this issue and their thoughts on what opportunities there are for independent artists to promote their music for cheap or FREE even. Besides the obvious Myspace and Purevolume sites, what other tools are being offered for us indie artists that we can use to our advantage.

Musicbanter does NOT allow promoting, I'd just drop that idea altogether. Sorry, but if that's what you're here for then we won't be able to help you much. Usually advertising your band ends in a permaban. Keep that in mind.
