i saw them perform a live show on fuse (or vh1, can't remember which) and it was absolutely terrible, i turned off the tv and went to bed (at 7pm) because if they were showing crap like that this early in the night, than everything else must already be re-runs of what was on earlier today.

I really enjoyed this one. Expect to see more Mars Volta albums in the train as the weeks pass.

Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground and others

I haven't had time to download anything from these artists. I would like to hear them but I don't know where to start. Suggestions? Downloads?

What else is new

Alice in Chains - Dirt, Facelift, Publisher Demos, Nothing Safe

Dirt Track Listing

1. "Them Bones" Jerry Cantrell 2:30
2. "Dam That River" Cantrell 3:09
3. "Rain When I Die" Cantrell, Layne Staley, Sean Kinney, Mike Starr 6:01

11. "Hate to Feel" Staley 5:16
12. "Angry Chair" Staley 4:47
13. "Would?" Cantrell 3:28

This is nothing new to me, as I've listened to and loved AIC music for many years now. It is nice to finally have this music on my computer, however.

Jeff Cloak - Yearbook

One of those odd, fascinating avant-garde albums I stumbled across. Very interesting soundscapes.

Adding more later

If you want any of this then give me a shout

Pink Floyd - Obviously start with Dark Side Of The Moon & The Wall, then go for the other four masterpieces Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Final Cut, The Piper At The Gates of Dawn.....and then if you like that lot, get the rest, which does contain some mediocrity, but for the most part is damn fine all along.

Basically the first four Velvet Underground albums are godly, most would start with & Nico because it's again the main album, but it makes no difference really, just basically ignore Squeeze.

Conan my man.

If you find the screenshot method a bit tedious, it's very simple to make a text file that lists all folders in a directory. You can do it in the command prompt with a single command. Press start in the bottom left, choose "run" and write "cmd" in the box. Then execute the following lines in the black command window by writing them and pressing enter :

Code:
cd c:\folderwhere\my\albums\are
dir /B /ON /ad > folders.txt
That will list all the folders in that directory and store that output in folders.txt .. Just open folder.txt to find a neat alphabetical list of all your albums.

This is basically exactly what I was about to say.

The way I got them was, (Which worked nicely for me)
Pink Floyd - Dark Side, Piper at the gates, Animals, WYWH, Division bell...
VU - With Nico, S/T, Loaded...

I would also advocate picking up some of Lou Reed's solo work while you are on the topic of VU. Transformer>Lou Reed>...

I would definitely get some David Bowie, if you like him. Low, Hunky Dory, and Ziggy Stardust are probably the ones to get.
