The Replacements I know. Not that song though.
Rock Lobster is pretty good, not the best on that album, but decent.
The rest are new to me, with the exception of Jon Spencer who I REALLY like.

The Replacements song I hadn't heard was pretty good. Not exactly up my alley, however I think I like them more each time I hear more of them.

Portico Quartet was interesting. I couldn't listen to "Prickly Pear" online, but I checked out "Knee-deep in the North See" as well as "Isla". Pretty decent. I will give them a proper listen this week-end, as I like what I've read on them and they have quite a different sound.

Yuck was ok. Fat Possum record label, so they have something going for them. Overall not overly impressed with that song, but not bad by any means.

Beach House was not for me. Far too pop for my tastes. I honestly didn't enjoy anything about it.

Charles Gayle Trio Another song I couldn't find online. I checked out Streets, which wasn't bad. A bit different, and kind of reminded me of Capt Beefheart on a sax, a definite Ornette Coleman influence. March of April sounded like the track to hear from this album as many of the reviews had some great stuff to say about it.

Solex Vs. Cristina Martinez + Jon Spencer Wow. Quite a cool mix of styles there. Dirty was not on Youtube, but I did find a sample on Amazon. It sounded good, for the 30 seconds I heard. I don't know what song I heard on Youtube but I liked it better than the sample of Dirty I heard. I wouldn't listen to them a bunch, but I would definitely put them in the rotation depending on mood. Pretty groovy basslines and atmosphere for sure.

The Flaming Tsunamis were a surprise. I was just typing about how they were not much more than a below average garage punk band when the horns came in and threw me off my high horse. I still don't think I like them personally, but they are surely cool in that they have added horns to some pretty hardcore punk.

Pepe Deluxé were pretty cool. Different than what I typically listen to, but definitely catchy, as well as different. I think they are my favorite of the bands I hadn't heard before.

Anni Hogan I found only a sample of that song on Amazon which didn't reveal a bunch. I found her on you tube with "Itchy Ear", and it sounded like ambiance music. Not something I care for much really.
