T.I. - Dead and Gone (I'm embarrassed to have this)
Sufjan Stevens - Decatur
The Big Pink - Velvet
Japanese Motors - Single Fins & Safety Pins
Tom Petty - Listen to Her Heart

Not a bad list, love Sufjan and Bright Eyes, that Japanese Motors song is good, as is the song by The Big Pink, T.I. sucks, Tom Petty is decent, The Cure are classic, don't know the other two.

The Mountain Goats- Sax Rohmer #1
Warren Zevon- I Was In When the House Burned Down
Of Montreal- Labyrinthian Pomp
Belle and Sebastian- White Collar Boy
The Clash- Death Or Glory
Death Cab For Cutie- Styrofoam Plates
Band of Horses- Islands On the Coast
Guided By Voices- Gold Star For Robot Boy
Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Y Control
The Submarines- The Good Night

I don't like this list, some of the songs are good, but half of these I don't even listen to anymore.

some people just find it hard to follow simple directions.

Hey Charlemagne, if you don't know Girl Talk, you really should give him a listen - he's probably the best "mashup" artist out there. It's not a style that everybody likes, I guess, but he really is very good at it.

I'm a fan of Band of Horses and DCFC although I tired of them with Transatlanticism and onward. I used to listen to Of Montreal but the only albums I really paid attention to were Satanic Panic and Sunlandic Twins, I never sat through Hissing Fauna so I don't think I know that song. I don't care for what I've heard of Belle and Sebastian (though it's decent), The Clash, Guided by Voices, Warren Zevon or Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I've only heard a few songs by Mountain Goats, one which was entertaining, otherwise their style isn't really to my liking.

Morte Macabre - Symphonic Holocaust
Mike Patton - A Perfect Place
The Smiths - The Boy With the Thorn in His Side
No Knife - Bad Landing
Brian Eno - King's Lead Hat
Goon Moon - An Autumn That Came Too Soon
Victory at Sea - The Letter
Russian Circles - Harper Lewis
Antipop Consortium - Moon Zero X-M
Zumpano - Throwing Stars

Not bad, I enjoyed all of these. The Antipop Consortium track was probably the least likeable, there's not much too it, kind of a filler track.

I can honestly say I have never heard a single song by any of these artists.
Though I have heard the names Brian Eno & The Smiths.
Perhaps I should check them out...

Hardcore UFO's - Guided By Voices
Hey Grandma [Live] The Black Crowes
St. Andrew's Fall - Blind Melon
Alone - Heart
Lonesome Highway - Rory Gallagher
A Favor House Atlantic [Live] - Coheed & Cambria
Rooster - Alice In Chains
Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of) - The Mars Volta
No Fun - The Stooges
Franklin's Tower [Live] - The Grateful Dead

I must say that is great list :)
If anyone doesn't know the Black Crowes & you like blues rock and/or Southern Rock, definitely check them out.

My favorite Mars Volta track, a very excellent Blind Melon track, a good Coheed & Cambria track (that I used to like more than I do now) and a good Alice in Chains track. The Heart track I've heard too many times, the rest I don't know or don't care for.

Nine Inch Nails - 33 Ghosts IV
Chevreuil - Champion
Sebadoh - So Long
Minutemen - Dr. Wu
Colin Muir - Truth of All
Ahleuchatistas - ...Of All This
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - House Fire
A Minor Forest - Speed for Gavin
The Enid - The Reaper
Demonseeds - Fail

Hmm not the best shuffle, some pretty weak or insignificant tracks.

Charlemagne 09-05-2009 08:58 AM

I've only listened to two of these artists, I like SSLYBY, but I don't like NIN. I have heard of but never actually listened to Sebadoh and Minutemen.

Atlas Sound- Ativan
Bishop Allen- Shanghaied
The Mountain Goats- Dilaudid
The Secret Machines- Atomic Heels
Sufjan Stevens- We Three Kings
The Mountain Goats- Psalms 40:2
P.O.S- Savion Glover
Pearl Jam- Immortality
One For The Team- You Know Culture
Spokane- Proud Graduates

Perfectly good list, except Pearl Jam.
