I like some of that (namely Dylan, Ray Charles and TMBG) but not really a fan of the rest.

Definitely. Burning Spear is reggae. The Feelies are almost R.E.M.'s precursors, so if you like R.E.M. I would say definitely check them out. Built To Spill is kind of like Modest Mouse (I like them more actually) and also worth listening to.
