The Acrade Fire song is the only one I've heard from this list...and what a tune it is indeed. The rest I am very unfamiliar with.

01. Tortoise - Dear Grandma and Grandpa
02. Metallica - The God That Failed
03. Indochine - Some Days
04. The Cure - Closedown
05. Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows - Todeswunsch
06. Björk - Holographic Entrypoint
07. Britney Spears - 3
08. The Clash - Safe European Home
09. The Beatles - Good Morning Good Morning
10. Foals - Black Gold

That's an eclectic list if I ever saw one. Not familiar with Tortoise, Indochine, or Soper Aeternus. I enjoy everything else aside from Britney Spears.

Beastie Boys - Girls
The Hold Steady - We Can Get Together
The Police - Spirits in the Material World
At the Drive-In - Napoleon Solo
Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing
The Fall of Troy - Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles
Straylight Run - The Miracle That Never Came
REM - Living Well is the Best
Dire Straits - One World
Modest Mouse - Invisible

Never heard quite a few of the entries on your list (but then I've missed out on a lot of band and have a lot of catching up to do, and that's OK), so I can't comment on most of it.

Beastie Boys's Girls ...damn, I used to listen to that album a lot. No sleep till Brooklyn was my favourite track.
The Police's Spirits in the Material World - ah, memories!
I never really bothered with Dire Straits.
REM - sorry ... I believe I'm the only person in the universe who really doesnt get what the fuss is about them. I'll go and hide, don't mind me.

All the other names are on my "need to get hold of if I can" list....

Now for my list - I have to say, my ipod has only a small, not entirely representative, selection of my bigger music collection on it, and I strongly suspect the shuffle function is not as random as it could be.

Sorry, can't resist commenting on what came up, or is that against the rules?

1. Nine Ninch Nails - Piggy (Pretty good)
2. Cop Shoot Cop - Got No Soul ("Will you people please stop jumping under my train" - the lyrics are pure gold! )
3. Nine Inch Nail - Sanctified (That bass!)
4. Firewater - 7th Avenue Static (Really pretty good)
5. Cop Shoot Cop - System Test (Eeeek - that's from some bootleg, and pretty much unlistenable, much as I love these guys)
6. Cop Shoot Cop - Triumphal Theme (Just...um, that one)
7. Echo and the Bunnymen - No Dark Things (Cardiac arrest of a song)
8. Certain General - Will you (Can you say epic?)
9. Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities (So glad this came up - classic pop at its best)
10. BRMC - Love Burns (Not the best song on the album this is from, but on the other hand, there isn't a single bad song on that album)

^ I like both Krugs and Boeckners songs but I think Boeckners Handsome Furs songs are sometimes better than his Wolf Parade ones.

Can't go wrong with classic Misfits. Pinback, Tortoise, Danzig, and Pink Floyd are sweet even I not a very avid listening of them (though Pink Floyd's get more ear time).

Aphex Twin - Fingerbib
Sleater-Kinney - The Fox
Aarktica - Summer Tabla Dub
Bikini Machine - Climax
Siren On - Violent Poetry
Don Caballero - The Peter Criss Jazz
Ladytron - True Mathematics
The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition
Say Anything - It's a Metaphor Fool
Henry Rollins - Late Night Phone Blues

I've recently gotten into Aphex Twin and Don Cab courtesy of this forum, great stuff. That Temper Trap track is so overplayed and overpraised though, I feel like there were several tracks on the same album that were stronger. Tried to get into Say Anything... couldn't. The rest I'm unfamiliar with.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Road Trippin'
Taizo Takemoto - Brinstar Depths (From Smashing....Live!, the live Super Smash Bros album)
Rage Against the Machine - Guerrilla Radio (effin love this track)
Melvins - Copache
A Tribe Called Quest - Buggin' Out (effin love this track too. Oh, Dave Mirra 2.)
Leonard Cohen - So Long, Marianne
Alkaline Trio - Burn
The Flashbulb - Steel for Pappa
of Montreal - Heimsdalgate or some ****ing stupid song title
The Helio Sequence - Looks Good (But You Looked Away)

great shuffle this time, wow.

That's the only Temper Trap song I have and I'm honestly not very familiar with it. As for Say Anything, I like about three songs from the one album and an EP I have so I can certainly see the lack of appeal. Nice one on Melvins and Smashing Live! btw.

I like that Of Montreal track, and Leonard Cohen, and A Tribe Called Quest, however I don't care for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine or Alkaline Trio, I don't know the other 4.

Freelance Whales- Kilojoules
Shearwater- Home Life
Charlotte Sometimes- AEIOU
Cursive- Mama, I'm Satan
Andrew Belle- Make It Without You
Glint- Gem
Socratic- Janis Joplin Hands
Loney, Dear- Harsh Words
The Clash- Wrong 'Em Boyo
Bishop Allen- Oklahoma
Pavement- We Dance

I like Shearwater and Pavement but I've never really liked The Clash.
I was actually checking out Loney Dears Citadel band Lp the other day in my local record shop. It caught my attention since it has the bands name written with sign language alphabet and I'm studying to become a sign language interpreter. I had never listened to the guy before, but I had to check him out since the album cover was so cool. I now like him, but I haven't listened to Dear John yet. I assume that track is good sice I've liked pretty much all his other songs that I've heard.

We All Inherit the Moon - Part V
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Motherfucker=Redeemer
Spawn from Deceit - De-Tribute
The Knife - Behind the Bushes
Bohren & der Club of Gore - Crimson Ways
Pg.lost - Maquina
Suis La Lune - With Wings of Feathers and Glue
Refused - Liberation Frequence
Red Sparowes - Alone and Unaware...(I'm too lazy to write the whole song name)
Jose González - Save Your Day
