Well there are certainly exceptions and I made a bit too big of a generalization (I don't think there's any genre I would say I really completely do not like and, if so, I've been working on learning more and appreciating a bit from everything) but as a whole the genre seems to have more bad than good to my tastes. Led Zeppelin I enjoy somewhat, though I'm kind of split on them. Some I like, some I don't.

...I wanted to continue the shuffling here because we've gone about 5 posts without it now, but I really basically know nothing about the music Sentience posted. Could someone with more knowledge carry on?

I don't know any of it either, lol. Well, aside from Karen O.

F*cking impeccable, dude. I forgot about that Rock Kills Kid track; it seems to have disappeared from my library and now I'm re-downloaded it. Thanks a ton! Great shuffle!

Someone still needs to do whatshisname on the other page :shycouch:

1. (i'm your) hoochie coochie man- muddy waters
2. waitin for the dj- talib kweli
3. cold rain and snow- grateful dead
4. prickly thorn but sweetly worn- the white stripes
5. farther on- vetiver
6. when i was a young girl (VV mix)- feist
7. days of last- fucked up
8. little moses- joan baez

The Abominable Homan 08-10-2010 12:25 AM

I've only really listened much to four there, but I like all of those (Talib Kweli, Grateful Dead, The White Stripes, Feist). I'm familiar with some of the others, but haven't really checked them out a lot.

Opeth - The Baying of the Hounds
The Get Up Kids - No Love
OutKast - Bamboo & Cross (Interlude)
Made in Mexico - Guerillaton
Cynic - Sentiment
Alice Cooper - Street Fight
The Blood Brothers - Lift the Veil, Kiss the Tank
System of a Down - Mind
Death From Above 1979 - Sexy Results
Asobi Seksu - Lions and Tigers

The Blood Brothers, Death From Above 1979, and Asobi Seksu songs were surprisingly all from albums I've very recently gotten and haven't listened to yet so I couldn't really include them in considering a favorite.

To my ears pretty much everything of theirs sounds really bland and uncreative. It all seems to get a bit too similar for my liking too.

I guess that makes sense, I can see how someone could their stuff be bland and sort of blend together in an album (does that even make sense? idk). I still love AC/DC though.

Alice Cooper, SOAD, and Opeth are all good (though admittedly, I haven't heard whole lot from Opeth). OutKast has their moments as well.

1. Exodus - Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)
2. Mors Principium Est - Life In Black
3. Down - His Majesty The Desert
4. White Zombie - One Big Crunch
5. Stone Sour - Reborn
6. Jaga Jazzist - One Armed Bandit
7. Fireball Ministry - Under The Thunder
8. High On Fire - Ghost Neck
9. Ov Hell - Hill Norge
10. Walls Of Jericho - I The Hunter

God, I never realized how much I love that Stone Sour track, and the whole Come What(Ever) May album for that matter. I hope their new one is even half as good as that one.

I don't know any of the bands here so I don't really feel like I'm qualified to "rate" your random tracks.

This is a fun thread!

Lush - Light from a Dead Star
Pavement - Heaven is a Truck
Jethro Tull - Wond'ring Aloud
The Zombies - What More Can I Do
TV on the Radio - Let the Devil In
Led Zeppelin - Sick Again
Davie Bowie - The Jean Genie
The Who - I Can't Explain
Pavement - Pueblo
Daft Punk - Robot Rock/Oh Yeah

I feel like this doesn't represent well because of the two Pavement songs and lots of 70's rock but oh well.

The Abominable Homan 08-10-2010 08:23 PM

To get some feed back on his stuff, I'll say of Sljslj: Jaga Jazzist is incredible. White Zombie and Mors Principium Est are fairly good. I'm not much of a fan of Stone Sour and don't know the rest really.

Pomegrant: I'm not a fan of Pavement based on what I've heard, but the rest is all consistently pretty good, especially Jethro Tull.

TV on the Radio - Dirty Whirl Wind
Intuition - Destiny
Gnarls Barkley - Whatever
Made in Mexico - March on La Migra
That Handsome Devil - Karaoke Burial
Canibus - Drama A/T
Diablo Swing Orchestra - Ragdoll Physics
Eminem - The Kiss (Skit)
Xiu Xiu - Bunny Gamer (b)
Pearl Jam - Porch

Not much that I know there, TV on the Radio are good, There's others there that I fancy checking out though...cheers

The Cure-Doubt
Frank Zappa-City of Tiny Lites
Stiff Little Fingers-No Change
The Cure-Three Imaginary Boys
Future of the Left-Suddenly Its a Folk Song
Paramore-Playing God
The Beatles-A Day in the Life
The Damned-Lively Arts
The Cure-Do the Hansa
Girls Aloud-I'll Stand by You
