Source? Though I guess it wouldn't be too surprising considering some people do freak out when they are told what can happen when you download illegally.

A mix i suppose, I buy singles off of iTunes but albums wise I go to HMV or Play.com heck even Amazon do some really good deals and prices

There's just something about having a CD collection, I think it shows more about your personality and your tastes where as showing your friend you have 3000 songs on your iTunes or whatever doesn't say much, people usually download an album from a torrent site and just listen to one or two songs from that album, I hate that...

but I have a lot of respect who still buy Vinyls, something about Vinyls and Vinyl covers just makes me drool especially the Rubber Soul Vinyl.... sends shivers down my spine!

I think like a lot of us, if I have the money i will buy the album on cd, if I am broke and want an album I will just download it. That being said I have downloaded a few albums that i liked so much I went out and bought a hard copy

Considering that the amount of money it would take to buy every album I own and will ever want to own is greater than the total amount of money ever offered to me by Nigerian princes in emails, I'm kind of forced to download. I have no moral justification for it but buying shirts and going to every show I can helps me sleep at night. Sometimes.

These days I mostly buy downloads in iTunes store. I do prefer having a physical CD but iTunes is way more convenient. I work all day on a computer so mostly listen in iTunes while I'm working. I also like being able to browse through the online store and follow links to new bands that I haven't come across. Found a lot of great music that way. Plus I usually don't have a lot of time to hang out in record stores these days. When I was young I could goof off and spend an entire day going around all the record stores in the city.

I just can't understand people paying money for a file when the CD costs the same.
You don't 'get' anything in your hands... I don't see the benefit of paying for a file when you can get it for free. I want to have what I pay for and I want to take it in my hands, open the wrapper, whatever. I would never ever pay for music. Especially not when it's compressed. I would think about a FLAC or so of an album I just can't find on a CD, but apart from that, paying for quality that isn't as good as it gets? No way.

The only times I've ever paid for an mp3 download was because for the exact reason that they weren't available on CD in the first place.

And because I couldn't find them free obviously.

Could you tell me, just so I can have a nice challenge, what music that was?
I really wonder if I am able to get it for free
