I download a lot, which is legal here, but I would too if it weren't.
When I like an album, I buy it. Meaning I buy an awful lot.
Downloading really causes me to spend a lot of money on buying music.

For me it's Burial, and now Arms & Sleepers. Matador was more pop oriented than I'd expected, but Nostalgia for the Absolute was a HUGE departure from that. It's more dark and ambient driven than anything they've released thus far.

Downloading, it's a lot more convenient, and it will usually have what I want. I'll buy what I really like when I get the chance, though.

yeah same but I do wish that more proceeds from buying the album would go towards the artist. It sucks that everyone else has their hands in that pot. If you want to support your favorite artist just go to their concert and buy merch.

I buy all my music. I don't agree with downloading it, I think that is wrong personally.

Ben Butler, you're limiting yourself to exposure of music if you don't download. As for me, I do a mixture of both (90% dl'ing 10% buying I'd say). The best way to support an artist is to see them live...MORE THAN ONCE! Buy a tee-shirt each time you go, it makes for one hell of a collection.

I know I am but I think it's the right thing to do. The music industry have reluctant to download and even embrace the internet at all until they found out that their market and lots of potential revenue could come from doing it. Personally, I think it's illegal.

It is illegal to download music for free. But that doesn't mean that it's the best way to support a group that is very small. It would be different situation for mainstream music I would suppose...
