I made the mistake of buying that piece of shyte years ago too.

Mouchois 06-24-2009 08:54 PM

After hearing "Beautiful" by Eminem on Jimmy Kimmel I figured that I would enjoy his new album.
I was mistaken.
Thankfully I don't actually buy cds.

Yay! I'm so happy someone else can relate to the horrible buyer's remorse experience that is that album. I have to say, for some reason I'm not surprised that it's you who shares my pain. :)

It's a well known fact that 99.999999% of albums with animated covers are crap.

Well why do you think I didn't say 100%

Janszoon 06-24-2009 09:26 PM

I have to admit I love Super Furry Animals album art in general, more than I like the music to be honest.

1 in 10 million seems to be overly critical, you think?

Not when you consider all the awful metal, prog and hip-hop album covers out there that are illustrated.

boo boo 06-24-2009 10:06 PM

There's a lot of great illustrated prog covers too though.

A lot? Really?

boo boo 06-25-2009 12:11 AM

Yeah, just look through progarchives, there's some pretty awesome prog covers out there.

I love Roger Dean and Hipgnosis's covers. Mark Wilkinson has some good ones too.

Gong, Hawkwind and Ozric Tentacles had some great illustrated covers to name a few, as well as some of the more obscure prog greats.

Though admittingly there's some really bad prog album art too. Camel's debut album and Gentle Giant's Acquiring the Taste come to mind. And of course the legendary Love Beach from ELP.

And Birth Control, I can't think of anything more mind numbingly awful than their album covers.

crazymenrunningback 06-25-2009 12:31 AM

I usto like blink 182 years and years and years ago. Never Liked JAson Mraz or ourney though. So myt worst is blink 182

Woah, thanks for introducing me to one of the ugliest websites I've ever seen.

boo boo 06-25-2009 06:32 AM

Lol, I'm not a terribly big fan of it's overly complicated layout either but trust me it's the ultimate prog resource site, they have very informative profiles for well over 4000 bands and over 20,000 albums and most of them have free MP3 streams available.

It's the perfect site for checking out new and obscure prog.

I do like that it's purple, if prog had a color, it would be purple.

This_Is_Corey 06-25-2009 06:56 AM

I just bought the black album by Prince. I dropped 20$ on it, and its not very good.

I feel your pain. I bought that when it first came out and was extremely disappointed too.

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-25-2009 10:31 AM

I think maybe I should have said cartoon covers rather than illustrated ones, that's kinda more what I meant.

I agree on the 99.999999999999999%. However I have this album (it's Dutch):

Couldn't find a bigger picture but here's the Last FM link:
http://www.last.fm/music/Pater+Moesk...an+De+Macht%21

It's old but quite a nice album. Happy kind of folk like music with funny lyrics. And the cover is done by one of my favourite Dutch cartoonists.

if you really don't like it and still have the receipt, you could return it you know. idk that's what i'd do.

catbird 06-26-2009 08:11 AM

ted nugent live. I actually threw it away.

ChiliColdBlood 06-26-2009 08:16 AM

So, when I was 13 or 14, I listened to a lot of nu-metal. I had the first 4 Korn albums, the first Limp Bizkit album, and albums by Ozzfest bands like Spineshank, Nonpoint, One Minute Silence, Mudvayne, and... gulp... Disturbed.

Oh, I had great taste. Haha.

I don't know about where you live, but here you can't just return an album you bought after you open it.

Same here (and "here" is the same city as Antonio), usually the only thing you can do if it's opened is exchange it for another copy of the same album.

sidewinder 06-26-2009 06:26 PM

Right...or sell it back for like $3-5 if they buy/sell used.

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-26-2009 08:25 PM

I don't take albums back.

That's like an admittance of failure on my own taste.

clarksided 06-26-2009 08:51 PM

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

That or

Boston - s/t

The difference being Boston - s/t is actually a popular record that I just don't like, while everyone I've ever met who made the mistake of downloading does it offend you, yeah like I did regrets it. Of course, I also actually paid for Boston but whatever, I've spent $10 on worse things, and the CD is just hanging out among some other classic rock stuff I liked for about a week.

I sell CDs when I need money, not usually because I disliked them in any way.

Alfred 07-01-2009 09:35 PM

I'd be willing to part with The Almost's Self Titled. I don't know why I bought it.

FaSho 07-01-2009 09:40 PM

Southern Weather is pretty bitchin'. If that's what album you're talking about. I'm pretty sure they only have one.
