Now.
I guess you have noticed that only a few of them are modern artists, that was no oversight. Oh, and I forgot to mention Television. Marquee Moon is a great one. Comus is anything but hip. |

A good chunk of what I listen to. I really don't care how "hipster" it makes me and how many people hate it. I will be listening to bands like Radiohead, Animal Collective, and Grizzly Bear for years to come. It's brilliant music.

I only use album reviews to read if there maybe anything I need to check out as well. But I don't only look at the rating but try to find out if it may be interesting enough for me to listen to. I may still like an album that got a bad review.
I like people who have developed their own unique musical taste regardless of what everyone else thinks of it including me. If you like listen to it and enjoy. **** the rest! People may slap me over for this one: I for one wasn't impressed by Grizzly Bear's album "Veckatimest". It's definitely not bad but I don't get the big fuss over it. But I'm pretty sure they're gonna be overhyped this year. |

I agree with you. I've only played it once but it didn't do much for me, aside from the song "Two Weeks" which I'd heard already and caught my attention. I think it's probably one of those albums that you have to listen to a lot to really get familiar with it. And I think people are forcing themselves to listen to it a bunch and like it due to the hype. I think this happens with a lot of albums. I may try an album a couple of times if it's supposed to be really good, but I won't keep forcing it if it's not doing much for me. Hype doesn't equal good.
