Absolutely nothing. Apart from that it's the only greenday album you'll ever need as the rest is the same or worse .

I disagree. Dookie is fine and dandy but American Idiot deserves some credit for being better imo.

It shows their growth and some maturity.

I agree with this. It's not a bad record at all. I wouldn't call myself a fan and I hardly ever listen to Green Day but on the rare occasion I feel like listening to them I may put American Idiot on. I like Dookie too but Jesus of Surburbia is better than anything on that album.
