He's off doing some kind of six week welding course. It was several weeks ago that it started so he should be done soon I think. Hopefully he doesn't forget about us when he gets back!

Although i haven't listened to the album in a few years now, and I probably won't anytime soon, I do think that American Idiot and Dookie are the only Green Day albums you'll really need. Even when I was a Green Day fan I found the rest of their stuff slightly underwhelming compared to those two.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "before they blew up"? They were already an immensely popular, in-your-face-constantly band long before American Idiot came out.

Well it might have different on your side of the pond. In the 4 years between Warning and American Idiot they were pretty much forgotten about by the mainstream here, they were seen as has-beens. Even the American Idiot single didn't make too much of an impact on the radio, it wasn't until Boulevard of Broken Dreams was released when sh!t went skyward and suddenly you could'nt escape them. That's what I was referring to.

Seems to be pretty friendly.. I've blogged with a couple MMA (mixed martial arts) forums for about 6-7 years now, and they can be a little more hostile.. I wont why that is?

But they still had sold boatloads of albums prior to that, no? I usually think of the term "blew up" as referring to a small time band getting popular, not an already famous band staging a comeback.

Green Day are leagues above Good Charlotte.

As for their albums... American Idiot>Dookie, but Dookie's close.

Green Day came out with a few pretty good albums.
Good Charlotte has produced nothing but absolute shit.

Dipshit fanbases aside, Green Day and Good Charlotte arn't even in the same galaxy.
