Absolutely nothing. Apart from that it's the only greenday album you'll ever need as the rest is the same or worse .

I disagree. Dookie is fine and dandy but American Idiot deserves some credit for being better imo.

It shows their growth and some maturity.

Not really, I think most people are neutral on them or like them a bit. I don't really see how someone could hate them, they're decent.

I'm happy with the music I like, I don't need other people to give me reassurance. And if people don't like something I like why should that concern me? lol. I suppose I could try and look 'cool' (as some would see it) by pretending I like some hyped band but that just isn't in my character.
