Lightning Bolt are wonderful. Awesome riffs make really make them an accessible noise rock band and a great gateway into the genre. I could honestly sit and listen to either one of the Brians play their respective instruments by themselves and be happy with that but the fact that those two forces play together make them such an intense combo.

Mindflayer are also excellent. Their other projects including Wizardzz (electronic-y stuff with Brian Gibson on drums), and Black Pus (Brian Chippendale solo) and Netmen are also worth looking into.

you like smashing pumpkins (and you have my favourite album of theirs in your av) and i think you also like soundgarden right? therefore, your taste must be good.

Yep, at any one point in time Superunknown is inserted and ready to play in the CD player of my '93 Corolla.

Note, not only is Gish in my avatar, its VINYL Gish =P

amazing, such a good band. my stepdad saw them in 1993 with faith no more supporting guns n roses. i hate guns n roses but i'd say that would've been an incredible show for the two support bands.

what other bands are you into?

Ummm, gotta admit I like a few songs by Oasis.

Blur
The Cranberries
Sleep
Some Nirvana
Alice In Chains
Radiohead
Noisettes
The Vines
The Doors
Sleep
Faith No More
Cracker
Soundgarden
Weezer
The Police
King Crimson
Rage Against the Machine
Pixies
Audioslave
Pearl Jam
Obviously Smashing Pumpkins is my favorite band

Soundgarden is a big part of my childhood. Just hearing the first few notes of The Day I tried to live brings flashbacks of hot Albuquerque summers.
