ITT: Boo Boo shows how little attention he has paid to anyone's tastes.
Anways my turn: Tore: If I could marry someone's music tastes it would be this guy, we're almost identical with a lot of things, if I like an album it's almost guaranteed he'll like it, and vice versa. All of his reccomendations have been spot on, and he's always available to upload whatever I may need. Geniune class. Anteater: Read above, always reccomends something new on what is essentially a daily basis. I unfortunately don't have time to listen to everything, but what I do listen to is always so great. Has been a pretty big influence on me recently, which says a hell of a lot about how much I respect his taste. Dac: Great taste in music outside of a few bands we're guaranteed to dissagree on. Likes pretty much everything I've reccomended him, which certainly shows he can recognise greatness. And that says a lot. On that subject, try the Quest For Fire album again, I've gone through three stages with it: 1. Initally great 2. Was my initial reaction wrong? 3. Wow this has grown a lot on me again, it's awesome! Still it's not as good as Sleepy Sun, but you really can't expect it to be. Seltzer: Your musical compatibility with Seltzer100 is Super Music you have in common includes Wishbone Ash, Frank Zappa, The Mars Volta, King Crimson and Windir. END.OF.DISCUSSION Urban Hatemonger: His top four bands on last.fm are: The Fall, The Clash, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones. Anyone who dissagrees with this is a failure and does not deserve to post here. Jackhammer: A lot of it is good, some is questionable. But at the end of the day there's just too much there. A lot of us are eclectic, but not to this level. Willing to try anything, but I fear it doesn't leave all that much room for reflection. Ethan: I love the guy to bits, but some of the worst taste imaginable at times, at least three or fours years ago, cringeworthy. However he likes a lot of good music too. People seem to forget this. Enjoyed Leaf Hound and that's a winner in my book. That's basically everyone who I know enough about to comment on their musical tastes.

What? I know the whole to each his own bit, but he has some of the best taste I've seen. For fuck's sake, he even likes Hymie's Basement, and not even the Why? fanboys acknowledge them. Also anyone who listens to Lightning bolt is good in my book.

Sweet Nothing - He can pretty much get into anything I give him but, what he finds on his own isn't bad either
Boo Boo - I really don't know to much about his taste but, I know he likes Pink Floyd and other progressive type bands... good stuff. Jack Hammer - He has one of the most electic tastes I've ever seen but, he has a special place in his heart for shoegaze like me. Gravity Slips - Another guy who knows his shoegaze and was aware of Lilys before even I. Captain Caveman - Really ****ing knows his hardcore... and it shows in his personality too. Swim - Another regular in the emo/hardcore sub forum... she seems to know her independent music too. Dreadnaught - Her taste in music tends to be that of a hipster but, she's not a complete ****ing tool like most hipsters are. Urban Hatemonger - I don't know who has more music Jackhammer or Urban... that aside he really likes the Fall and Alice Cooper... Molecules - He's into alot of good avant-garde stuff as well as shoegaze... that's all for now. |

Here are just a few people who immediately came to mind for me. I'm tired as hell right now so this list is by no means comprehensive or very well written, but here you have it:
Anteater Definitely pretty different tastes from myself what with the love of prog and all but I think we overlap in our love of weirdness. I've definitely heard some cool stuff from him. Bulldog I'm a huge fan this guy's taste too. He's constantly coming out with those albums that I'm been meaning to check out for ages and turn out to be absolute classics. Jackhammer There's a lot of overlap between my taste and Jackhammer's so he's one of my favorite people to chat about and trade music with. His tastes are like mine, so yeah they're pretty great. Lucifer Sam I have a hard time getting a handle on his tastes a lot of the time because I know he loves some great crazy ass music but then he completely abhors similar stuff that I would think he'd be into. Anyway, as one of the only other Foetus fans on here besides myself the guy certainly gets high marks from me. Molecules His dubstep thread is what introduced me to and got me into that type of music. So for that alone I'd say I really dig his taste. Mr. Dave What can I say, he's a fellow Secret Chief 3 fan. I love it. SATCHMO I remember back when I first started posting regularly I used to stumble across a lot of old posts by him and think "damn, I wish this guy still posted here". Lucky for me he came back. He's probably the most knowledgeable jazz fan on MB and that's one of my favorite things about him. Urban Hatemonger When it come to raw, garagey, ass-kicking rock n roll he has absolutely stellar tastes. Pretty much, if I see him hyping an album or a band, I'm going to give them a listen. Zarko Probably the most interesting taste on MB. That's not to say I'm totally entranced by everything he's into but it is always very interesting stuff and frequently kind of off the wall which I really dig. I wish he posted more. |
