I knew you'd say that, because his taste is so similar to mine it's creepy. And when he says there are no good modern prog bands, I think he means in the traditional sense of what people associate with prog, and like him I'm pretty disinterested in the neo prog stuff. All the good prog now is the kinda stuff that no stubborn prog elitist will ever admit is prog. |

Generally I just have a problem with people who only listen to a specific genre of music and write off everything else.
Or people who conform to an annoying subculture. |

Speaking of not mixing prog with pop what do you think of Muse boo boo? Do you even consider them prog?

I think they're a great band. Though it's kinda hard not to think of Thom Yorke a lot when Bellamy sings. |

Also: Marillion, Radiohead and Muse are all not prog.

I agree with this & is the reason why although I listen to Prog, Metal, Jazz, Electronic, Avant Garde; I dont fit into any of the descriptions you provided for the people who listen to that type of music (still makes for humourous reading). As for the sub-culture, I plan to form an Avant Garde band using nothing but kitchen utensils as the instruments. After we get a record deal with Sony, we plan to break America & top all the charts; our biggest hit in particular being 'Fork, Spoon & Spatchela Medley'; other unfinished works include 'Dishwashers At Night'. We will be better than Oasis & bigger than Jesus. Amen.
