Would i like? I'll be investigating most of the acts there as i haven't heard a great deal of them. Skream and Santigold are some other highlights.

Toumani Diabate is an African artist. I have an album of his with the legendart Ali Farka Toure which is excellent. I am sure you will. I didn't notice skream but that's another highlight for sure.

Going one day to North Sea Jazz in Holland: looking forward to Roy Haynes, Kyteman's Hiphop orchestra and have to figure out what to see for the rest.

After that it's off to Rock Werchter in Belgium. Very good line-up: The Killers, Kings of Leon, Nick Cave, Oasis, Eagles of Death Metal, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Metallica (again) to name a few.

Last one is Lowlands in Holland: Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Passion Pit, Prodigy, White Lies and...Faith No More (yeah!)

I just love those summer festivals. Or any music festival for that matter.
Die!!!

Diabate's a bit hard to describe. He plays a much more chilled style than a lot of the rougher-edged desert blues you've got coming out of Mali at the moment. That and it sounds a lot more like classical music than blues.

If you're up for a link, just let me know

I went down for the Ottawa Bluesfest last Saturday actually. I mainly went to see Philip Sayce (who if you haven't heard of, look up, he's an incredible guitar player), but I also caught Rachael Yamagata, Loreena McKennitt, Doyle Bramhall and Cotton Jones. I hadn't heard of any of them except Doyle Bramhall, but they were all really great. I caught a lot of other acts intermittently throughout the day too, 10 hours of music is just a lot of fun. It was a hell of a trip actually; I had to leave at 5 am to catch a Greyhound to Ottawa so I would be there for noon, I watched music until midnight, then caught another Greyhound at 12:30 so I was back in the city at 6 am. Wandering around Toronto at 6:00 am on a Sunday when the streets are literally empty is quite a cool experience too.
