I've been going to the Lowlands festival in the Netherlands for ages now. I use to go to the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands as well but for the past 8 years we went to the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium instead. The last edition was two weeks ago and it was a blast again.
Great line-up with Muse, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Editors, LCD Soundsystem, Yeasayer, Alice in Chains, Them Crooked Vultures, Rammstein and many more. The overall level was really high. Many bands played very well, even the big names. I don't want to advertize for my blog but if you like to read reviews about it follow the link in my signature. Last week I also went to the North Sea Jazz festival in the Netherlands for one day. Been going there for many years as well. Really looking forward to Lowlands which takes place in August. Man, I just love those festivals! Nothing can beat a few days watching live bands and partying with good friends! |

There's something called the "Hullabalou Music Festival" going on at Churchill Downs. I was considering going, but the line-up had a lot of country artists, which I don't like very much. But there were some gems in there.

Sziget is coming up here in Budapest in a few weeks. there are a few i'd like to see - DJ Shadow, Faithless, Gorillaz, Muse, Bad Religion... but they're all spread out, so no one day looks like it's worth 45 euros to me...

ATTENTION! All those who live in Australia or New Zealand.
As you aware the Big Day Out lineup for this summer has been announced and Tool are playing! I have to be there. However, getting BDO tickets is bloody ridiculous! The Melbourne show basically sells out in seconds, or so it seems. I'm gonna jump on at 12.01am as soon as the tickets are released and try to get some, but what do you think my chances of success are? How quickly will shows like Melbourne sell out for BDO? I'm freaking out. I have to see Tool! |

After seeing everyone's reactions to the first announcement, it's pretty hard to gauge how fast tickets will sell. While there's a load of big names on the roster, there's also a lot of negativity surrounding it. You'd be surprised at how many people are pissed that their fav flavour of the month band isn't playing... and some think that the organisers are simply rehashing previous lineups as all of the major acts have played at the BDO before. Seems that quite a few will be heading over to Soundwave instead. On the other hand, that was only the first announcement and I get the feeling that they'll ensnare many more people if a big electronica/reggae/hip-hop act comes on board (a lot people I know were hoping for Daft Punk). Well here's to hoping
