I wanted to embed a music video, but it won't let me since I'm new to the community. Anyways, the song that has been stuck in my head all day today is "Dominos" by Big Pink...DAMMIT!

Dieselboy 01-01-2010 12:27 AM

Blondie - Atomic vs. Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.

I spent quite a few hours yesterday trying to 5-Star this on DJ Hero, and had it running in my head last night when I wanted to go to sleep. Played it a bunch today and got SO close quite a few times, but not quite. -_-

It's permanently stuck in my head now though, and it's the 1st thing that pops in whenever I don't have other music playing...I'll just start singing softly, "Whoaaahhh, atomic." over and over.

Hopefully I'll be able to kick its ass tomorrow. D:

Whatever song was last embedded in the Spanish Music thread is now stuck in my head.

- S'not hard. Just take a youtube link like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLvohMXgcBo

- Select everything up to and including the "=" and then hit delete, so you're left with:

GLvohMXgcBo

- ^Highlight that and then click the "Wrap [YOUTUBE]" button up there in the top right of the posting box. And then submit. :thumb:

Damnit by Blink 182. I've been listening to this song alot and am starting to think I may have been to harsh in judging this band. It really brings me back to my childhood, late nineties. Also 'All The Small Things' is tough to get out of the ol' noggin:

Wow, glad they have a forum for this. I can't get rid of this intro from Land of Talk "Some Are Lakes" or the melody for that matter. good sound, but looking at this list helped a little. >_<

storymilo 01-06-2010 09:34 PM

I just listened to this 12 times in a row...:(

captaincaptain 01-06-2010 09:43 PM

I was watching Family Guy on New Year's Eve and I've had this in my head since. The song though is a good example of surf music (one of my favorite sub genres of rock).

duga 01-06-2010 10:54 PM

awww **** i shouldn't have visited this thread because now surfin bird is in MY head...

When I was a wee guy (Your age, maybe a year or two younger) I lost a friend! That tune reminds me of him, twas played at his funeral. Not to make everyone sad or anything, we need happy :)!

Even as a cheesy power ballad, I think this song fails terribly. What's worse is that they always choose to use this for the last dance at my school dances. Hate that damn chorus.

Ponies and rainbows, ponies and rainbows. :D

edit: yeah losing a friend is pretty horrible, hopefully you wont have to endure that until your much older, it's unavoidable, but hopefully it doesnt happen to us or anyone for a long long time! :(

Alfred 01-27-2010 08:50 PM

Great, now I feel bad about my bashing of that song. :(

Argh the chorus is what's stuck in my head. I was even singing it in class today, my teacher asked what I was doing singing Aerosmith. Yeah..

Haha don't be silly. Your entitled to your own opinion! I don't think it's the best, I actually hate hearing it, I don't like being sad! :).

Be that as it may, the song still sucks. And it kind of reminds me of that scene in High Fidelity where Jack Black tells off the guy who wants to buy "I Just Called to Say I Love You" for his daughter, saying that "There's no way she likes that song". I mean come on, there's no way that kid who died would have wanted that god awful song played at his funeral, right?

It's even not even the lyrics as much as it's the thing he does at 1:29 and a couple other times. Something about it is so upsetting and sad.. and obviously infectious if I've done it like 5037812 times today.

This was to me right?
Well I'm not going to go into to too much detail but surprisingly Rickenbacker, people like music that you may/may not like. I don't disrespect you for saying this, but I'm not the type of person to lie, I think you took it too far. Ofcourse he liked the song, thats like my parents playing basshunter at my funeral. They know I hate him, and if my mate thought the same view as you, "God awful" I'm pretty sure his parents would have liked to fulfill his wishes by playing a song he liked. I think it's very insensitive of you to say that...

That is all.

I think this is a little out of line to be honest mate. Ive noticed you are very opinionated when it comes to music and this is not necessarily a bad thing. So am i. I also share your dislike for that song. However i feel this is one opinion you could have kept to yourself.

Its fair enough that you dont like it but come on, it would have been very easy to recognise a sensitive subject and choose your words a little more carefully.

Rickenbacker 01-28-2010 02:59 PM

I recognize that what happened was sad and certainly not a memory that I would like to associate with such a bad song.

That thing he does at 1:28-1:29. It sounds like a depressed man's whistle
