Default Pretty Much the Funniest Interpetation of A Joy Division Song

The first time I heard the song Disorder by Joy Division i thought it was the geyest song ever but here is why, here i'll post what the lyrics are actually and after ill post what I thought they were. Its really hard for me to understand english accents sometimes :P

ACTUAL LYRICS
I've been waiting for a guide to come
and take me by the hand
Could these sensations make me feel
the pleasures of a normal man
New sensations bear the innocence -
leave them for another day
I've go the spirit, lose the feeling
take the shock away

It's getting faster, moving faster now,
it's getting out of hand
On the tenth floor, down the backstairs
into no-man's land
Lights are flashing,
cars are crashing,
getting frequent now
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, let it
out somehow

What means to you,
what means to me -
and we will meet again
I'm watching you, I watch it all
I take no pity from friends
Who is right and who can tell,
and who gives a damn right now
Until the spirit, new sensation
takes hold - then you know (3)
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling (2)
Feeling (7)

WHAT I THOUGHT THE LYRICS WERE

I've been waiting for a "GUY" to come
and take me by the hand
Could these sensations make me feel
the pleasures of "ANOTHER" man
New sensations bear the innocence -
leave them for another day
I've go the spirit, lose the feeling
take the shock away

It's getting faster, moving faster now,
it's getting out of hand (you can only imagine what I thought was happening here)
On the tenth floor, down the backstairs
into no-man's land
Lights are flashing,
cars are crashing,
getting frequent now
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, let it
out somehow (This I thought was about some kind of homosexual insecurity)

What means to you,
what means to me -
and we will meet again (I thought he said I will meet "a gey")
I'm watching you, I watch it all
I take no pity from friends (who i assume are heterosexual)
Who is right and who can tell, (Homophobic people?)
and who gives a damn right now
Until the spirit, new sensation
takes hold - then you know (3)
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling (2)
Feeling (7)

Well feel free to laugh at my horrible misinterpretation of a song .

English is my native language and I still misinterpret lyrics constantly.
I think Tool's Maynard J.K. is one of those singers that I just can't understand what he's saying, ever.

you don't need to. the lyrics are bullshit anyways.

please don't take that the wrong way; i'm a Tool fan but i'm still able to recognize what a piss poor lyricist MJK is.

Ian was actually a great lyricist, but you wouldnt know it from that song. But yeh I thought the same when I first heard it. I thought since they were a 'punk' band they were trying to be in your face singing about gay love or something.

I'm not going to lie... I made those same two misinterpretations when I first heard Joy Division.

Guy instead of guide is certainly aurally plausible; another instead of a normal not so much - however it is more than semantically plausible given the previous misinterpretation.
