True, you make a good point. I could have included some outstanding guitarists, drummers, horn players, fiddlers, too. Janet Weiss from Sleater-Kinney didn't do a whole lot of singing with that band, but she's definitely a hot drummer.

I don't make distinctions between what I find beautiful and sexy. That's usually a male thing. You guys do seem to like to categorize and compartmentalize women (the whole "hott or not" thing...). In addition, the women I posted pics of are women who I think are very attractive, not only great musicians and songwriters. Which is why I posted their pictures in this thread. Because this is a thread, is it not, about women musicians who we think are beautiful?

Wait, what's wrong with that? Categorizing and compartmentalizing (whatever or whoever) is a natural tendency in human beings. And it is useful. For instance, it allows us to distinguish between mainstream and alternative beauty models. Whether we like the mayority criterion or not.

It is useful for knowing, in an accurate way, our thoughts, views, likes, dislikes and ethic and aesthetic attitudes. For instance, Nastassja Kinski in Tess is (extremely) beautiful. Nastassja Kinski in Cat People is hot (as Hell). Same actress, two different views.

I don't know that you can really speak for all the men and women on this site. That's rather assumptive of you, but I'm beginning to form the opinion that being assumptive is your particular m.o. Again, I don't really differentiate between "beautiful" and "hot." I look at attributes in people that I find attractive, which usually include their spirit, passion, personality, world view, talent, creativity and personal style, and are not limited to their physical appearance.

I'll give you an analogy. What I sense you're saying here is that the only kind of pizza that's any good is made with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. If it comes delivered in a cardboard box, it's great. If it comes delivered in a cardboard box and a thermal bag, it's great and hot. Never mind that there are many other ways to make a pizza, you're going to stick with your assessment that pepperoni pizza is best. Wouldn't you say that's kind of limiting? You're limiting your experience of...oh, say, margherita pizza, Thai chicken pizza, roasted vegetable pizza, dessert pizza...simply because pepperoni is best. You're so focused on the pepperoni and what kind of box it comes in that you're missing out on a lot of other wonderful things.
