How do you know what kind of music it is?
 

Does anyone know of a site that has samples of ALL the different types of music that are out there?

I'm trying to figure out where some of my songs fit, so I can get it out to the right ears, but I'm having a bit of trouble knowing for sure.

there are only two kinds of music that actually count for anything in the world we live in. the good kind, and the rest.

if you're just looking for marketing terms, just make one up, use a word like 'post' or 'proto' as a prefix, maybe even 'meta'. either way, marketing terms are generally pointless and have little to do with the actual type of music you're hearing.

What? You don't know the difference between nu-post-proto-metalcore and post-grind-metalcore? n00b

I pull new genre terms out of my ass all the time, just give us a sample of your music and I'll invent a term for it. :)

I never undestood genres and always thought I was stupid or something, because everyone else knew the difference between this and that and the other. I still really don't fucking have a clue, it actually sort of pisses me off. Right now I just get an idea of what a term means to me and just put it in my own genras instead of using/learning some complicated BS system someone else came up with. God, fuck genres!

I have every one of my songs' genres labeled as "Music."

I propose that all music be united under the one genre title 'musicore'... thus satisfying everyone, fthose who just like music regardless of genre and satisying those who like a little "core" at the end of their music genre titles...

Or maybe I really am just too tired to be posting...

If you listen to anything with -core attached to the end then I seriously doubt you'd be trying to explore beyond your paltry boundaries to begin with. :p:

That aside, people bitch too much about subgenres.

I've NEVER done that....lol... but then again, I'm only listening to apple core these days...
