Besides the fact that Muse wouldn't listen to Britney Spears for inspiration (they're too busy borrowing from classical artists), that riff wasn't rocket science to come up with.

i'vejust looked through this thread and I don't think I saw one mention of Oasis!!
Although i did see mention of a song they've ripped off but then they've ripped off that many it's hardly surprsing

In Your Honour by Foo Fighters has the exact same riff as Sulk by Radiohead. Dunno if that one's been mentioned yet.
