http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...MilesDavis.jpg Miles Davis - 'Round About Midnight Year: 1957 I'm sorry I think I just froze from how utterly cool this album is. It's so intensely awesome, but what would you expect, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones to name a few appear on this masterpiece. Yeah you basically can't go wrong, and if you happen to put this on and think "I don't like this" then you've failed at both music and life. Or maybe the sub-zero temperatures are affecting your hearing. As with any good jazz album, just chill to it, seriously, sit back, relax and listen to everything just being alright. 3 Choice Tracks: Ah-Leu-Cha, Tadd's Delight, Dear Old Stockholm |

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...lbum_cover.jpg Drudkh - Estrangement Year: 2007 Imagine if a Black Metal band and a Canterbury band played side by side, but the Canterbury band's equipment wasn't loud enough to be heard properly so they only played every few minutes. And halfway through this concert, the black metal band gets inspired by the prog, and decides to go prog metal on their arses. This is pretty much exactly what happens in this album, only way more awesome. It's my latest review in my review corner too, so head on over there when it's approved. This is one to listen to when you can't decide between prog or black metal, that's what I do. 3 Choice Tracks: There's four songs, leaving one out would, once again, be cruel. |

http://a0.vox.com/6a00cd978b8c9bf9cc...49e8cb8f-200pi Mountain Ash Band - The Hermit Year: 1975 Less of a concept album and more of a story told through narration and song. This incredibly charming and incredibly British album always brings a smile to my face before making me very sad. The actual emotion you feel for the character Job Senior is incredibly strong. You'll love this if you love folk albums with a twist. Great melodies, fiddle and guitar makes this album a must have. I have reviewed it and I gave it a strong 8/10, but on re-examination it feels like it deserves more. This album can be incredibly powerful at times, and all the songs have been superbly crafted. This is one to listen to when you have the time to hang on every word, and then the time to play it again. 3 Choice Tracks: Journey, I'll Sing For My Supper, Rebirth |
