Usually when you add post to something, that basically just means "make it a bit more indie", does it not? At least it seems that way, indie kids sure like post metal more than metal, post hardcore more than hardcore, post punk more than punk, post rock more than rock.

Sure, I'll go ahead and pull some new genres out of my ass right now.

Post-Hip hip: Aesop Rock, Dalek, Madvillian.

Post-Folk: Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom.

Post-Electronica: Boards of Canada.

Post-Prog: The Decemberists.

Ta-da. Anybody can make up a genre.

im not defending "indie kids" but you have to acknowledge that those are all clearly seperate, discernable genres

Well of course. I'm not saying that's all indie is, or that the "post" concept doesn't mean anything more than that. Not all "post" bands are indie bands, and vice versa. And while I can't claim to fully understand what this whole "post" concept actually is, I know for a fact that indie kids eat it up. If a certain genre has a sub-genre with "post" in the title, it's reasonable to believe indie kids will like it more than anything else in that genre.

And since when did you become so PC all of a sudden?

You mindlessly insult people unprovoked every chance you get, but I say the slightest thing about emo and you make it out like I raped a nun or something.
