Your Opinion about Music
Hey Guys,
For my music class I have to write some sort of an essay about the meaning of music in societies. To do that, I would like to include some opinions of people interested in music and stuff, so I'm asking you to post what you think about music, the music industry nowadays, the meaning of music in our/your society or the world, or whatever you want to say about it. Please also feel free to give any hints about what I could write, I'd appreciate that! Since the grade on this essay is kind of important for me, please help me on this, so I can include some sort of an survey! I hope I'm not repeating any former threads, because I couldn't find any. Please help me on this, that would be really great! |

It's hard to say how certain sounds suceeding each other manage to have such an emotional effect on us but they just do.
Thing about music is, it's just an illusion, sound is just our interpetation, without us there's no sound, just traveling waves and frequencies. So theres nothing objective about the quality of a sound, it's all in the individual's ear. But I feel some people don't really listen to their ears, but rather they care too much about the image or ideology associated with the music, that's the big secret behind a lot of todays modern pop music trends. So all I can tell you is, don't look up to music critics, your peers or bullsh*t ideologies that don't even have anything to do with the music to shape your taste, explore whatever you can find. And don't give a sh*t if the critics hate it, or if the media is all over it, making it "uncool" to hipsters. |

i know that i wouldn't want to be on this earth without it.
it's one of my favorite blessings from God. i met a guy once who said he wasn't that into music. he claimed he only owned one album (that he no longer even owned) i asked him what it was and he said "Boston, i bought it because some chick i dated liked it". i could only think how bad it must suck to be that guy, having no appreciation what-so-ever for something that is an integral part of my life. |
