I'm a huge Tom Waits fan, but I agree his ballads can be hit-or-miss. I don't mind the ballads on
Rain Dogs, though I there's a couple I wouldn't miss if they were gone, but some of the ballads on, for example,
Heartattack and Vine are just f
ucking tedious.
