Hate My Life by Theory of a Deadman

I couldn't HATE this song more. :banghead: all their doing is whining. Things are bad enough in the world, we need music that gives us hope, not make us feel worse. who agrees?

You should give Leonard Cohen a listen some time :D

What music gives you hope?

I hate Simple Plan, their 20-year old adults whining about things pre-teens are worrying about, and we all know how pre-teens make big things out of stupid ****. Their influence on the youth via mainstream media is terrifying. Whine, whine, whine.

Not all music that isn't happy is whining though. A lot of influential artists do controversial things, which often creates rage/sadness/rebellion. Also, the idea of straying away from the bad things in the world by making happy music that ignores problems and gives us a sense of denial is basically the Jonas Brothers (to some extent). I think any music that is good does the opposite of that.

While I won't deny the song sucks, people go to music for various reasons. People connect with the negativity and depression in some bands. That's just how it is. Bands like Joy Division wouldn't exist if everyone felt the same as you.

If you want to hear some good positive hardcore from the old CT/NYC scene that bands like Hatebreed came on the heels of, check out Gorilla Biscuits. You might like them.

Here's one of their classics, "Start Today" (from 89 I think):
