Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, or Freddy Mercury.

I'm actually happy Patton isn't their permanent vocalist. One of the main reasons I like Mike Patton is because of how diverse he is musically. I think he balances his work well. There are huge M.P. fans on here (me being one of them), but it is possible to be all-Pattoned out. Frankly, I just don't want to get tired of him.

Yeah good point. But Tomahawk work doesn't come often enough, and the last album was filled with too much non-singing...so I miss his singing in a rock environment. I'm sort of hoping new FNM material comes out of the reunion, even though I'm usually very opposed to reunions due to material often paling in comparison to the band's older work. But I miss my FNM!

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Bjorn Berge has some serious chops and can really play a 12 string, just ignore the verbose TV announcer at the beginning.

A cliche pick for me would be Steve Perry.

But on a more timely front, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver has an amazing voice, I could listen to it all day.

Roy Orbison or Freddie Mercury. Johnny Cash is my favorite though.
