Default Did'ya ever just...

Ever just find yourself becoming mildly, or not so mildly obsessed with music that you at one point swore you would never get into/
as I'm going through the arduous, but extremely fun task of rebuilding my music collection. I find myself gravitating toward all this indie/baroque pop stuff that -as I recall- a year ago I was seriously flaming folks about on this very forum.
Does this happen to anyone else?

I don't consciously think that I won't get into any music and i listen to everything anyhow but i do find myself appreciating genres a little more. I used to hate Jangle Pop, but the C86 comp and The Primitives have swayed me a little.

This past year I have been obsessed with country music, since I was given "Horse Solider! Horse Solider!" by Corb Lund and "Ambassador" by Elliott BROOD I cannot get enough of this genre.

I never thought and i'd like metal or dance or country and i stereotypically hated pop but i embrace it now. If i'd have known the likes of noise rock existed i'd have dismissed that too. You learn more as time passes, jazz is next on my list.

Have you heard of Cassius a French band? I think you would like them.

What were you listening to to begin with?

And I had thought all pop was bad for a while, until I realized I liked Micheal Jackson

in answer to the thread yes loads. But I think open-mindedness is just a by-product of being obsessed with music in the first place. Oh and the internet

This thread was really directed at you, and how I used to rant and rave about how I hated The Shins.
