Invariably they are here for you to moan but if you go too far it ends up with pages of ranting and nothing changes. It would be so great to see many more positive threads on MB. It seems people are much more inclined to reply to a negative than positive thread.
I think its mainly just people being unimaginative tbh, although an element of what you're saying is probably true. I've probably already posted it in this thread actually but i really, really hate Sonic Youth. The most tedious set of ****s in the world. Oh and also Madness, a bunch of annoying cheepy chappy ****s form north london making crappy specials lite ska.

i could be wrong but i've seen TDEP tagged as math rock and hardcore but never metalcore.
The majority of it is i suppose yes but i think its pretty lazy to tar them all with the same brush. As far as DEP are concerned i'd say that they're a metalcore band with mathy riffs etc.

I think Venus In Furs is shit and I don't mind the Velvet Underground.

I realise i'm supposed to like their dreary avant garde stuff with John Cage viola playing sounding like a dying cat for indie cred points but I can't be arsed with that rubbish. I'd much rather listen to their commercial stuff like Rock n Roll or Waiting For The Man.

sometimes they tried to do a bit too much and it really didn't work for them. they weren't supremely accomplished musicians, so where they excelled best tended to be their more flavorful pop songs. in that respect they were great songwriters.

European Son is absolute garbage though.
