Well, David Bowie's as good as retired these days, Elvis Costello's sworn never to play in the UK again, and I think New Order have split (or at least Peter Hook's done with them, and a Hookless New Order just isn't the same thing to me).

I miss Foreigner about every 6 months, they're always at the Emerald Queen, but it's a casino, so I can't get in.

I'm to young to be able to have had the ability to have seen any great 70s or 80s band in their prime(although with Arnel Pineda Journey still does great), hopefully one of these days Modest Mouse or the Killers make it back to Washington.

I'm going to miss out on seeing Britney Spears at the Tacoma Dome in April, LMAO.

Ah. Makes more sense now. When did Elvis Costello swear to never play there again and why?

I think it was around this time last year. Can't remember exactly why he's not touring in Blighty again - he's probably got a bone to pick with this country's music industry or something. Shame really, I'd love to have seen him play over here.

Whatever it was I bet he'll play there again. He's a cranky bastard with a history of shooting of his mouth and then going back on what he said.

The one that really sticks in my craw, is a triple bill Metallica, (even though I am not actually a fan), Alice in Chains (last show in Vancouver...bye Layne) and Days of the New, another band dissolved by drugs, though I think Meeks is still hanging on powered by Meth.

Also, Johnny Cash in Vancouver a year before his death. That one will always bother me. Missing that was a chance never to be repaired...

So many, but notably The Strokes, Sigur Ros, The Mars Volta and Radiohead (though I saw them last summer so it's ok)

i missed soundgarden in '94 by 200 kilometers.

was supposed to see metallica / RHCP / beck and a bunch of other bands in seattle for some festival gig in the summer of 2000, ended up sleeping.

the reason i was in seattle was a less than legit college work program thing, was supposed to be there for 10 days ended up there for 3 months - also cost me my one chance to see the smashing pumpkins (pretty sure it was their final show outside of chicago).

missed fantomas by a week in montreal in 2005. only found out they were playing while on the way to see a QOTSA show (lived in ottawa at the time).

missed GWAR in 2003 because no one would go with me and i couldn't get time off work. - same for beastie boys and ministry (different gigs).
