Here's my belated feedback then...

Pierre Blachelet & Herve Roy - Emanuelle OST

For those who don't know, Emanuelle is a famous 70s porn flick and, because we now have a 12 year old and not to mention plenty of kiddies with sensitive eyes in our ranks, I'm afraid I won't be able to post the cover here :p:

The music then... never seen the film myself (never been one to bother with that kind of thing anyway), but I did of course have some sort of expectation of what to expect - metronomic beats, funky guitar, all hilariously cheesy stuff. Oddly enough, this wasn't what the Blachelet-Roy partnership delivered at all. Alright, it still sounded a lot like the soundtrack to a porno flick, only... good. What I found myself listening to instead of some thrown-together borefest was some great (non-electronic) chillout music, dominated mainly by acoustic guitars with a few shades of saxophone and synth thrown in to add some extra colour. The vocals, in the rare places they're opted for, are very nice and soothing too. A very wintry, warm kind of vibe about the whole thing. All in all, it's something fairly rare in movie soundtracks of any kind, that being a unit of work that can stand up on its own two feet without the film to which it belongs. Something I can see getting more plays in future, so cheers for this one TL.

Links? I love Pierre Bachelet, and Emanuelle's theme song written by him. And actually Emanuelle is one of the greatest porn movies that were shown on the big screen. It then made some kind of French porn revolution.

Edit: Just remembered, Emanuelle 3's theme song, was written by Gainsbourg. But the movie was ****.
And they prefer the term "Erotic Films" to Porn.

Coolio. But I always seem to end up with people who I've never really discussed music with...I guess I'll just have to send something and see if it sticks.

Also Abdullah I know you're still waiting on my extremely overdue review..... I've had some things going on the past couple weeks but I whole-heartedly promise I will get it in eventually:D

I bet they do :D

I've heard good things about Emmanuelle down the years myself too, I've just never really been that bothered about going out of my way to watch it, like a lot of other films with big reputations (City Of God's another one that springs to mind).

And, yeah, I think I've still got the link. I'll get it your way sharpish...

^I wouldn't have bothered myself, but they had all 3 of them on TV once. I mostly watched them because of Seinfeld's episode Roshel Roshel, which is kind of a reference to the absurd story of Emanuelle. :D

Same here. tho I don't think it'd be too hard, as we've got kind of a similar taste in music.

I'm glad you liked the album. Despite my lack of review, I'm digging Fall Be Kind. I rarely dislike what I hear by Animal Collective. I'll start looking for something a little different to send you this time.

Yeah, I'll go a bit more obscure this time and get you something you probably haven't heard of.
