well anticipation sent me
Julio Gutierrez & His Orchestra-Progressive Latin well all i have to say is that i loved this record ! the jazz fueled Latino compositions that were just as beautiful and well done as it was fierce and hard hitting. Guitierrez knows how to lead his band, with everyone keeping the whole thing going while each instrument had their own spots to get noticed and play around. this is exactly the kind of stuff i like, and i couldn't ask for more. 10/10

i knew you would like it.
my fellow ant sent me independent worm saloon by butthole surfers, a band that i've seen championed and obsessed over by a lot of people i know. oddly enough, i'd never heard anything by them until now. i thought the album was a good example of the grittier, punk-influenced side of alt rock, and although it may not be my favorite album of all time i didn't think it was particularly horrible. a so-so album in my eyes, with some good tracks like the wooden song and you don't know me. overall, if i had to give it a rating, i'd say maybe like a 6/10. |

Crash sent me :
Versions by Posion The Well The band name sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember why until I saw the tracklisting. The opening track Letter Thing, I had heard on a compilation and really really hated. I decided to listen through anyway and was mildly impressed. It's definatley a break from the cliche breakdown-post hardecore style that is popular nowadays, but there were points when I just couldn't get into the more experimental elements. Sorry crash, maybe its a grower. 4.5/10 |

Antonio sent me All N' All by Earth, Wind & Fire for the last trade off. I've heard this band referenced to on King Of Queens and some other instances in my life but I've never knowingly heard any music by them. I feel All N' All is a fairly accessible soul/funk record. It's filled with vocal hooks and bass lines that are a must for this genre. For now I think I'd give it a 6/10 which by no means is a bad score by me. I'd rate it this because I did enjoy the album but didn't really connect with more that a few tracks. |
