"True Democracy" - Steel Pulse I was given this by Bulldog, and to be honest it's the only reggae I've ever listened to outside of Bob Marley. I love a lot of Bob Marley's stuff, but I'm guessing Bob Marley wasn't really true grassroots' reggae after hearing this one. I find reggae to be ok background music, but nothing I can really get into the groove of or sing along with... I'll be giving it a listen now and again to see if it sinks in. Right now, it's right around a 5/10. Sorry for the late review! |

Wolfandotherassortedanimals gave me...
http://3.music.bigpond-images.com/im...-Like-This.jpg I'm not really into my indie folk so when the first song came in i was wary of what was to come. I gave it a listen to and thought it was pleasant enough, especially Stranger and Wasted which stood out, and thought as nice as it was it probably wouldn't get too many more plays. Well i'm on my 3rd listen now and i think it's a gorgeous little album. Julia's voice is interesting, i think it's both bloody annoying and oddly endearing at the same time. The lyrics are clumsy in that twee sort of way but that's what gives them appeal i think. So yeah, win. Nice one Wolf! |

Well shoe sent me an Immortal Technique Album. Revolutionary Vol 1.
http://oophiphop.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/itrv1.jpg To be honest it was ****ing awesome. Im not really in a Hip Hop phase right now but this was a great listen. Its simple hip hop, the way i like it. Straight forward simple beats without relying on hooks for your attention. I give it a 7.5/10. edit: This reminded me of Gangg Star. ----------------------------- Get your reviews in because next weeks trade starts soon! |
