It would be a little tough to pull off. I can be done though, I may have to go download one to share haha. In any case I'm good with what the majority of the sharing group wants.
Edit: I just checked and I have a total of 6 EPs, 2 live, 1 Studio and 3 really old Demo ones that might be a tough listen for some. But I wouldn't mind doing that theme.

I completely fell in love with this album, it fuses Exotica(a genre I know literally nothing about) with all of these abstract sounds like animal noises. I was pleased that I was being sent something from a genre I hadn't even heard of but wary as the genre didn't even have a description on RYM. That made it even better when this album blew me away. The strange noises are sometimes uncontrollably hilarious but still respectable, I laughed out loud on a few occasions. The animal sounds add to it in a way though, because it helps create a kind of jungle atmosphere. Michel Magne needs more love because i've searched far and wide and still haven't found anything else by him which is a shame based on the quality of this. 9/10 i think thanks Melissa. PS:She sent me another one but I have to go to bed so I can't review it right now. |

Glad you loved it I have a couple of albums by Martin Denny, who is somehow the master of this genre, if you want.
I'll be reviewing the albums in the next hour or two.

Nina Hagen Band - s/t (1978) So we were in the shouty, when James and I were talking about what to send to each other. I was telling him that I've been listening to a lot of Female Punk bands lately, and that maybe I'll send him an album from that genre. However, it somehow ended up the other way around, with him sending me this Nina Hagen album. I got hooked from the first track. That woman's voice is so crazy, and the music is so energetic you really wouldn't care what the hell they're shouting about in German. Electronic music is quite dominant in the arrangements, contrasting the roughness of the vocals. For a punk album, they can get a bit proggy, with tracks from 4 minutes to 6 minutes throughout the album, still the Rock n Roll is there all the way. Loved it! - from start to finish. Thank you James. Spectrum - Soul Kiss (Glide Divine) (1992) ... and we somehow ended up sending each other 2 albums. Crazy shoutbox. Anyway, so that's the other one. From Spacemen 3 member Peter Kember as Spectrum. I'm not familiar with the albums of Spacemen 3 and now I realise that I really should check them out. As for this album: It starts with "How you satisfy me", a very catchy and sweet lo-fi tune, then the album takes a more experimental turn. It somehow felt like a mix between Garage and Space Rock. The only take I have on it, is that the album is over an hour long, and that can be exhausting at times. Still enjoyed it immensely. -Double Thank you James.

Oh you definitely should. They were a great band. Since you like 60s psychedelia, I'm sure you're gonna love them. Their music was greatly influenced by Pink Floyd and 13th Floor Elevators, among others. And they, in turn, influenced later shoegaze and neo-psychedelia. A music to lose yourself into.

All of their albums are good. My personal favorite is Playing with Fire (1989). Generally, that one and The Perfect Prescription (1987) are considered to be their best. But, Sound of Confusion has a great 13th Floor Elevators cover "Rollercoaster". Really, you can't go wrong with any of these.

and yeah, in a sense this is an unfinished album, so that's probably why it seemed so brief.
