Alfred sent me Rebel, Sweetheart by The Wallflowers.
This is the kind of music that in order to be fully appreciated, must be played while the listen is in a particular mood and place. This record would be perfect to listen to while driving on a mild spring day. 'Days of Wonder' and 'Nearly Beloved' held my attention, but with the rest I found myself zoning out. Like I said, this album has a time and a place, but in my dark room on a cloudy day isn't it. Come spring though, I'll probably listen to this like crazy.

Stereophonics - Language. Sex. Violence. Other?
Got this one from WWWP, and I have to say it's a great introduction to this band. I had a really good time driving around listening to this album, it's loud and brash in the kind of way that I'm into. My only complaint is the lack of variety between songs, but it really doesn't matter because it's still a great listen. Pedal Pusher and Devil are probably my favorite off this album, definitely left me wanting more. |

Language. Sex. Violence. Other was surprisingly decent after the likes of JEEP and that other one that was completely awful. I loved Word Gets Around back when it came out and that album was very special to me, Performance and ****tails was pretty good to but man did they start releasing some dreadful records after that.

NO not a review, just a quick sentence or two on what you thought of it.

23 Skidoo "Seven Songs" I'm finding it quite challenging to describe this album with just a few sentences... very unique listening experience for me. These guys remind me of an even more experimental version of Sun City Girls and for some reason, I find this easier to pick up than a SCG album. Overall great album but, the average listener might not think so. Last edited by Farfisa; 03-14-2009 at 03:53 PM. |
