Long ago I went to see The Offspring- they were so terrible live. The poster only listed two bands, but there were three. I thought Quicksand was actually Offspring and thought "Wow, they rock! I've never heard these songs before!" then 5 songs later the singer said "Hi everyone, we're Quicksand"

Offspring came out later and I couldn't believe how terrible they were. The drummer couldn't keep a beat and got tired. The band was always facing each other, lost and trying to find their place in the songs.

I was a "Parrot head" for a night. When I went to a Jimmy Buffet show..Fans were a lot of fun but really not my type of music.

Sugar Ray, around 1998 maybe? The only reason I had a good time I because I was with a cute guy who kept beating the crap out of all the moshers that kept bumping into me. Yes...there were moshers at a Sugar Ray concert.

me and a coupple friends went to this teen music festival. when we got there all the bands were soft folk bands and when my friends band played every one was shocked because they were metal... it was really funny

Oh my god, I just realized I forgot about my best one ever: I saw this retarded screamo band Raise the Red Lantern at this crazy spot in Chicago up the street from my old apartment. Basically it was an old high-rise hotel that had been converted into apartments and the old lobby and entire first floor area had been converted into an extremely rundown cafe and art gallery that was only open intermittently. It actually felt kind of like a squatter situation that night because there was no heat and the majority of the light was coming from votive candles all over the place. And there were hula hoops all over the place.

Anyway, this was a birthday party for one of the owners of the cafe/gallery and a couple bands played including Raise the Red Lantern. They went on kind of on the late side, cranked their amps up all the way and promptly got complaints from the people who lived upstairs so the sound guy turned them down a bit. At which point two of the guys in the band threw complete rock star temper tantrums and threatened to beat up the sound guy. Then they very dramatically started packing up their gear. The way they were acting it was really obvious that they thought the audience was going to totally back them up, but instead people started loudly making fun of them for being such a bunch of dicks. And that's how it went as they marched in and out packing up their van, everybody continuously making fun of them. It was really pretty entertaining.

I've seen a bunch of bands before who I don't actually like, aka the Metros and Art Brut, but they were great live acts nonetheless. The fact it was such a small venue means you can find the support bands at the bar or having a smoke outside after they've done their bit and have a little musical chat with them, which is always nice.

Enjoyed it except for the fact that I kept thinking
"This is what music would be like today if the blues never happened." LOL

Yeah, I like that too. It only sucks on the rare occasion that the person turns out to be an asshole, which unfortunately was my experience talking to Damon Tutunjian from the Swirlies. But that's the exception, people I've talked to from other bands like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Dresden Dolls and even older, more established people like Subhumans and Dick Dale have all been pretty friendly.
